This set piece represented the dingy, old, 70’s style bathroom in the fixer-upper cabin in the woods the family son was working on throughout the play. I worked directly with the scenic designer to understand his vision and intentions for this design and received renderings and inspiration photos to use as my references. The technical director and I worked closely to ensure my deadlines were met and I maintained the correct inventory necessary to meet the designer’s needs.

These set pieces acted as masking for our very exposed wings as well as moving hiding spots for the fairies as they traveled across the stage and shifted other set pieces and props. Our scenic design’s overall inspiration stemmed from n old classic loony tunes cartoon that demonstrated the whimsical spirals and over-exaggerated aspects of nature while holding true to natural colors. I worked off of a single rendering to complete 4 different sized trees ranging from 6’ - 10’ in height. The designer’s most important request to me was that the “squiggles” never show a pattern and I believe I accomplished this goal.
