Inside the virtual production.

My first virtually stage managed production was divided into subfolders nestled under one main folder, titled the production, Kent State. Appalachian State is a google drive school, so this was a familiar way for students and faculty to work collaboratively while mostly remote.

I developed a way to "check-in" with my cast using a google form response we would do once a week or once every other week depending on how they were feeling. It was not required and they could complete it on their own time whenever they felt. I received very positive feedback and would consider bringing this into educational theatre under normal circumstances.

An entire folder was dedicated just for zoom. Many rehearsal nights and production meetings were set aside for learning this process and teaching these techniques. The virtual production performed live through zoom a total of 5 nights, running approximately 2 hours, with a total of about 250 video, transition, and sound cues called.
